I’m planning a little weekend drive around Eastern Ontario and want to hit some cool local spots — maybe a winery, antique shop, or a place with homemade pies. I’d rather not use TripAdvisor or big apps. Is there a local directory or site that shows small businesses worth checking out?

This is perfect, thank you! I’ve been trying to plan something similar and didn’t want to rely on the usual apps. Just checked out Eastern Ontario Local and I’m already seeing some cool businesses I wouldn’t have found otherwise. Definitely going to use it for our weekend trip!
That sounds like a great idea — I’ve done a few day trips around the region and it’s honestly amazing how many cool small businesses there are! I recommend checking out Local Business Directory before you head out. It’s a directory that focuses entirely on businesses in Eastern Ontario, and it’s helped me discover little spots I never would’ve known existed. Last trip, I found a family-run winery and this quirky antique shop thanks to that site. You can browse by town or business type, which is super handy when you’re planning your route. It’s a great alternative to using TripAdvisor or the big platforms that mostly list the same stuff. Definitely check it out — I think you’ll find some cool stops.
